Looking for an unforgettable student travel experience that blends language immersion, history, culture, environmental science, and meaningful global connections? Our 5-Day Puerto Rico Student Trip introduces students to one of the most unique destinations in the United States through guided experiences that bring learning to life.
Best time to go: Puerto Rico's warm climate makes it a fantastic destination throughout the school year, especially during the fall, winter, and spring months.
We handle all the planning and logistics and send a professional Tour Director along with your group, allowing teachers to enjoy the experience right alongside their students.
Day 1: Welcome to Puerto Rico
Arrive in San Juan
Students arrive in Puerto Rico and begin their adventure in the vibrant capital city of San Juan. After checking into the hotel, the group enjoys a welcome dinner and prepares for an exciting week of exploration.

Day 2: Rainforest Exploration & Coastal Ecosystems
Explore El Yunque National Forest
Spend the morning discovering the only tropical rainforest in the U.S. National Forest System. A private guided eco-tour introduces students to the incredible flora, fauna, and ecosystems that make El Yunque one of Puerto Rico's most treasured natural resources.
Students also enjoy panoramic views from Yokahú Tower and visit the beautiful La Coca Falls.

Tip for teachers: This day creates excellent connections to life science, environmental science, biodiversity, and conservation standards.
Seven Seas Beach & Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve
After lunch, students experience Puerto Rico's coastal environment with a visit to Seven Seas Beach before continuing to the Cabezas de San Juan Nature Reserve for an evening guided walking tour. Students learn about coastal habitats, conservation efforts, and the unique ecosystems found throughout Puerto Rico.
Tip for teachers: Students should bring sunscreen, comfortable walking shoes, and a reusable water bottle.
Day 3: History, Music & Puerto Rican Culture
Discover Old San Juan
Travel back more than 500 years as students explore the colorful streets of Old San Juan. During a guided walking tour, they learn about Puerto Rico's history, architecture, and cultural influences while visiting the iconic Fort San Felipe del Morro.
Tip for teachers: This experience brings social studies lessons to life through firsthand exploration of one of the oldest cities in the Americas.
Explore Cueva Ventana
Continue the day with a guided tour of Cueva Ventana, one of Puerto Rico's most famous natural landmarks. Students learn about geology and cave formation while taking in breathtaking views of the island's interior.
Bomba Music Seminar
Wrap up the day with an interactive Bomba music presentation where students experience one of Puerto Rico's most important cultural traditions through rhythm, music, and storytelling.
Tip for teachers: This hands-on cultural experience is often one of the highlights of the trip.
Day 4: Taino Heritage & Puerto Rican Traditions
Explore Puerto Rico's Indigenous History
Today focuses on the island's rich Taino heritage. Students visit Barrio Tibes, one of the Caribbean's most significant archaeological sites, where they learn about the traditions, customs, and history of Puerto Rico's indigenous people.
Discover Ponce & Jayuya
Continue through the historic city of Ponce and the mountain town of Jayuya, where guided experiences explore the culture, art, food, music, and lasting influence of Taino traditions throughout Puerto Rico. Students also visit a museum that houses important Taino artifacts and historical exhibits.

Tip for teachers: This day provides meaningful connections to history, anthropology, cultural studies, and geography.
Day 5: Cultural Exchange & Farewell
Connect with Local Students
One of the most impactful experiences of the trip is a cultural exchange with students from a local Puerto Rican school. Through conversation and shared activities, students gain a broader perspective while building meaningful connections with their peers.
Tip for teachers: Encourage students to prepare questions ahead of time and reflect on similarities and differences they observe throughout the exchange.
Depart for Home
Students return home with a deeper understanding of Puerto Rico's culture, history, environment, and people—along with memories that will last a lifetime.
